Bruins Sign Defenseman Torey Krug To Four-Year Contract Worth $5.25 Million Annually

One defenseman goes, one defenseman stays. Just hours after it was reported by TSN’s Bob McKenzie that the Bruins put Dennis Seidenberg on waivers, the team is atop the NHL transaction wire again, signing defenseman Torey Krug to a four-year contract through the 2019-20 season worth an average annual value of $5.25 million.

25-year-old Krug is coming off his fourth season with the team in which he scored a career low four goals after notching 12 goals in 2014-15, 14 in 2013-14 and 13 in 2012-13. Krug also added 40 assists which put him ninth in scoring amongst defenseman.

The Livonia, Michigan native was originally signed by the Bruins as a free agent on March 25, 2012 after going undrafted after playing 3 seasons at Michigan State (09-12).
